Team chat, inside the company app.

Groups for a home, a team or a shift, on a work login. Work conversations stay off personal phones.

Create a group for a home, a team or a shift, and add people to it as the team changes. It works the way your staff already message: tag a colleague, reply to a message, send a photograph, react to one and see how many have seen it. Every message is a push notification on a work login, and the group belongs to the home.

    01 · Groups

A group for a home, a team or a shift.

CareChat is group chat. A group is created and named for a home, a wing, a shift or a team, and people are added to it as the team changes. It lives in the staff app, on a work login.

The Chat Tab in the Staff AppThe groups a person is in are listed on one screen, each with its last message under it.
One Group per TeamA group for the home, a group for a wing, a group for the shift that works together. Nothing else needs to be set up.
Add People as the Team ChangesOpen the group, see who is in it and add a colleague from your own staff list. There is no number to pass round.
Six Members, Then SevenIsla joins the night team and is added to the group from the group's own screen.
02 · Tag, reply and photos

It works the way your team already messages.

Tag a colleague so the message is plainly for them, reply to a message and your answer carries the message it answers, and send a photograph when it is quicker than typing. Messages carry text and photographs, and nothing else.

Tag Someone in the MessageTag a colleague inside the message, so it is addressed to them without leaving the group.
A Question to the Night TeamHana asks who can cover Saturday's late and tags Danny in it. Everyone on nights can see the answer.
Reply to a MessageA reply carries the message it answers above it, so a conversation held across a busy shift still reads in order.
Send a PhotographA photograph goes into the group as it is — the new poster for the staff room, without a walk to find someone.
    03 · React and see

React, and see how many have seen it.

A reaction answers without another message, and a seen count tells the sender how much of the group has read it. It is a number, never a tick against somebody's name.

React Instead of ReplyingA reaction says it is read and agreed, and saves the group four more messages saying the same thing.
One Reaction, With Its CountThe reaction sits under the message with the number of people who gave it.
A Count, Not a NameThe message carries how many people have seen it. Nobody is marked as having read or ignored it.
Seen by SixThe sender knows the message reached the shift without having to ask anybody whether they got it.
    04 · Push, on a work login

Every message is a push, on a work login.

Every new message reaches the people in the group as a notification on the staff app they already use for the rota and their hours. No personal numbers are shared, and the group belongs to the home rather than to anybody's phone.

A Push for Every MessageThe message arrives on the phones of the people in the group, through the staff app on iOS and Android.
On a Work LoginStaff sign in to the company app. The conversation is not on a personal number and not in a personal messaging app.
The Group Belongs to the HomeThe home owns the group, not the person who started it, and it is not held on anyone's personal phone.
Belongs to Willowbridge KingswoodThe group carries the home's name, and the company app is where it lives.

Last reviewed September 2026 · Based on publicly available documentation and pricing.

    Is CareChat group chat?

Yes. CareChat is group chat inside the company app. A group is created and named for a home, a wing, a shift or a team, and the conversation belongs to the home rather than to the person who started it.

How do people join a group?

The group is opened in the app, its members are listed, and a colleague is added from your own staff list. Members are added as the team changes, so there is no number to pass round and nothing for a new starter to be invited to.

    Can people send photographs?

Yes. Messages carry text and photographs. A colleague can be tagged inside a message, a reply carries the message it answers, and a reaction sits under a message with the number of people who gave it. There is no video, no calls, no voice notes and no file sharing in chat.

Are staff notified of a new message?

Yes. A push notification is sent for every new message to the people in the group, through the staff app on iOS and Android. The message also carries a count of how many people have seen it — a number, never a tick against somebody’s name.

Do staff use their own numbers?

No. Every conversation takes place in the company app on a work login, so no personal numbers are shared and work conversations stay off personal phones. Chat is in the staff app; there is no chat screen on the dashboard.

What does CareChat cost, and is it included in anything?

CareChat is £89 a month per home, with every staff member included, on a monthly rolling contract with no setup fee. It is also included in the People Management Platform at £10 per bed per month.
